Massillon native Jae$auce signs LA-based deal with NuRelease Productions

From high‑school livestreams to a Los Angeles contract, Massillon’s Jae$auce is stepping onto the national stage.

Jae'Sean Parsons, better known as Jae$auce, secured a recording contract with NuRelease Productions in June. The 27‑year‑old Akron resident began his career in 2016, livestreaming music from Washington High School in Massillon before earning an audio‑engineering degree from Stark State College in 2020.

Parsons has carved out a niche in hip‑hop and R&B production, often handling every element of a track himself. He blends vocal samples with instrumental loops and then layers his own lyrics before passing the finished product to collaborators. His work has attracted sync placements in television, film, commercials, video games and other visual media.

"We make demos for artists, and if they like the song, they can offer a deal for it," Parsons explained, highlighting the practical route that brought him to NuRelease.

NuRelease’s leadership welcomed the partnership. CEOs Gram Moore and Christine Scott said the company was “super excited to have a talent like Jae$auce. He’s next up (for us).” The label’s roster strategy focuses on artists who can write hooks, develop concepts and collaborate across genres—qualities Parsons brings in abundance.

The deal is non‑exclusive, allowing Parsons to work with other labels or artists. He noted that if a track he contributes to is paid by another party, the revenue would be split 50/50 between him and NuRelease.

Parsons’ career has taken him beyond Ohio. He has performed in California and Chicago and is open to traveling for projects. “A lot of the work is writing hooks and concepts to team up with other musicians and artists,” he said.

Beyond the studio, Parsons has engaged in community outreach. While living in North Carolina, he taught studio lessons to active‑duty military personnel as part of a therapeutic program. He also livestreamed music during high school, a practice that helped him refine his performance skills.

His early musical influences include Chris Brown Sr., whom he describes as a pioneer who blended hip‑hop with R&B and added dance elements.

Looking ahead, Parsons plans to relocate to Los Angeles within the next couple of years to further his career. He also announced an upcoming album slated for release on his birthday, July 22. His discography includes the 2020 album I’m Still Here and the 2026 release Bring Upon The Dawn.

NuRelease’s partnership with Parsons reflects a broader industry trend toward flexible, non‑exclusive agreements that allow artists to maintain creative control while accessing the resources of a label. Sync placement continues to be a lucrative revenue stream for independent musicians, and Parsons’ experience in that area positions him well for future licensing deals.

The deal underscores the growing importance of regional talent pipelines, with artists from smaller markets like Massillon gaining national exposure through LA‑based labels. As Parsons prepares to move to the city, industry observers will watch how his blend of production, songwriting and community engagement translates into chart performance and streaming numbers.

At present, Parsons remains based in Akron while finalizing the terms of his contract and planning his upcoming releases. No further details on tour dates or promotional activities have been disclosed.

The partnership between Jae$auce and NuRelease Productions is a milestone for the artist and a sign of the label’s commitment to nurturing versatile talent capable of navigating both studio production and the evolving demands of music licensing.
