Make Them Suffer Completes Recording of Sixth Studio Album with Producer Dan Braunstein

On a humid July afternoon, the studio lights dimmed as Make Them Suffer’s latest chapter closed.

The Perth‑born metalcore outfit posted a series of behind‑the‑scenes photos on its social‑media accounts on July 14 2026. The images show the band hunched over instruments and microphones inside The Hallway Studios, where the sessions wrapped under the guidance of producer Dan Braunstein. In the caption, the band wrote, “LP 6 status: Complete. The culmination of our time with @dan_braunstein will reveal itself in due course.” The post made it clear that the recording phase of the band’s sixth studio album is finished, though a release date or distribution plan has yet to surface.

Make Them Suffer first cut the rug in 2008 in Perth, and their debut, Neverbloom, was issued on 25 May 2012 after the band signed with Roadrunner Records in February that year. The album entered the ARIA Album charts at No. 56, and the follow‑up, Old Souls, debuted at No. 30 on 29 May 2015, marking a noticeable shift toward a more progressive metalcore sound.

In 2016 the group signed with Rise Records, an American label based in Beaverton, Oregon. Rise released an expanded edition of Old Souls on 19 August 2016, which included the self‑released 2010 EP Lord of Woe and a new track, “Ether.” The band’s third studio album, Worlds Apart, was announced on 28 July 2017 and released the same year. That period also saw lineup changes: founding members Lachlan Monty, Louisa Burton, and Chris Arias‑Real departed on 9 June 2017, with Booka Nile and Jaya Jeffery joining as keyboardist and bassist.

Worlds Apart was supported by a headline tour across Canada, the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia. The band shared the stage with acts such as Wage War, Enterprise Earth, Novelists, Spite, and Alpha Wolf. Subsequent releases included the single “27” on 24 July 2018 and “Hollowed Heart” on 7 June 2019. Touring activity continued, with a North American tour in 2019 featuring Born of Osiris, Chelsea Grin, and Kingdom of Giants.

The current recording sessions took place at The Hallway Studios, a space where Braunstein has produced several recent metal releases. According to the band’s social‑media update, the sessions were completed in July 2026, but no release date or distribution plan has yet been announced.

Industry observers note that Braunstein’s production style—characterized by a balance of polish and heaviness—has become sought after in modern metal. His recent credits include Spiritbox’s Tsunami Sea (2025) and Dayseeker’s latest work. Make Them Suffer’s decision to work again with him follows a pattern of the band seeking a consistent sonic direction across albums.

As of now, the band has not confirmed a label for the upcoming release. The last known label affiliation was with Rise Records, but the band is currently listed as a SharpTone Records artist on its official website. No official statement has clarified whether the new album will be released through SharpTone, Rise, or another entity.

The completion of the recording marks a significant milestone for Make Them Suffer, but the next steps—distribution, promotion, and touring—remain undisclosed. Fans and industry analysts will likely monitor the band’s official channels for further announcements.

While the album’s content and release strategy are still pending, the finished recording signals that Make Them Suffer is preparing for the next phase of their career.
