Jowi Releases Hard-Techno Single Submerged on New Label KRAWALL Records
Jowi, the Swiss DJ and producer based in Lugano, announced the release of her latest solo track, “Submerged,” on her own imprint KRAWALL Records. The single dropped on 5 June 2026 and combines hard techno beats with gabber‑style elements, a sound that the artist has described as “hard techno track with some gabber elements.” The release follows her earlier single “Filth,” which is approaching one million streams.
KRAWALL Records, co‑founded by Jowi, Jazzy and Zatox, was launched in October 2025. The label’s name, derived from the German word for “uproar,” reflects the high‑energy aesthetic that the trio aims to promote. In the interview, Jowi explained that the label is intended to be a “home for artists who push dance music into a harder direction, regardless of genre.” She added that the label’s mission is to provide artistic freedom, allowing artists to “fully express themselves” without being confined to a single style.
The interview was conducted while Jowi was recuperating at home in Lugano after a demanding May tour. She noted that the quiet moments outside her window, with a summer thunderstorm passing over the mountains, helped her recharge and focus on new music. She said she now has “time to produce music” and to “answer the interview.”
Jowi’s approach to production is described as “go with the flow.” She stated that she no longer follows a fixed routine, having found that routines can lead to over‑thinking. Instead, she starts with whatever inspires her in the moment. This flexible method is part of why her output spans a wide range of styles, from hard industrial tracks to more experimental releases.
The artist also discussed her live work. She has performed B2B sets with Dutch DJ Boery, and has a future face‑to‑face collaboration with hardcore legend Mad Dog. Jowi highlighted her desire to create a sense of “we” through music, emphasizing the importance of connecting with audiences and other DJs. She said, “I try to stay as connected as possible whether it’s with other DJs or with the people dancing in front of me.”
Looking ahead, Jowi indicated that she has unreleased material and collaborations in the pipeline. She confirmed that at least one more track will be released during the summer of 2026, though she did not disclose the title. She also expressed interest in exploring “unexpected combinations” and blending bounce influences with gabber elements.
The release of “Submerged” adds to a growing catalog on KRAWALL Records, which already features releases that range from euphoric high‑energy tracks to darker experimental sounds. The label’s focus on hard‑techno and related subgenres aligns with the broader resurgence of gabber and hardcore styles in Europe, particularly in the Netherlands and Germany.
Jowi’s statement that “I give energy, and I get it right back from the people in front of me” underscores her belief that live performance is a reciprocal exchange. She attributes the sustained energy she feels during sets to the crowd’s response, describing it as a “beautiful exchange.”
In summary, Jowi’s new single “Submerged” demonstrates her continued commitment to hard‑techno innovation, while her label KRAWALL Records provides a platform for artists exploring aggressive dance music. The upcoming summer releases and ongoing collaborations suggest that Jowi will remain an active presence in the hard‑techno scene throughout 2026.
