Ibeyi Announces Independent Album Offering and European Tour

Ibeyi, the French‑Cuban twin‑sister duo, has announced that their fourth studio album, Offering, will drop on 26 June 2026. The 12‑track collection will debut on the sisters’ own imprint, Ibeyi Records, and will be distributed through AWAL licensing, setting the stage for a fresh chapter of creative freedom and direct fan engagement.

Offering is the first full‑length project from Ibeyi in four years, following 2022’s Spell 31. While their earlier releases—self‑titled Ibeyi (2015), Ash (2017), and Spell 31—were issued through XL Recordings, the move to an independent label gives the sisters full control over both the artistic direction and the commercial strategy of the new album.

The record’s lead single, “Aset,” premiered on 20 May 2026. According to the announcement, Offering will be available on all major streaming platforms at launch, with a vinyl edition slated for 25 September 2026. The 12 tracks continue the duo’s signature blend of alternative R&B, Afro‑Cuban jazz, and Yoruba‑influenced vocal harmonies, while expanding on the sonic palette that has defined their sound.

In tandem with the release, Ibeyi will embark on a European tour that begins in late June. The tour will span cities across the continent, with dates announced on the duo’s official website and ticketing partners. The itinerary is designed to promote Offering and to showcase the sisters’ live performance—characterised by layered vocals, cajón, batá drums, and piano—to new audiences.

A recent feature in It’s Nice That offered an informal glimpse into the sisters’ personal lives during the week leading up to the album launch. Lisa‑Kaindé, based in London, described her weekend as a mix of “creative dates” that included attending gigs and exhibitions such as recent shows by Tracey Emin and Belkis Ayon at the Tate, and a concert by the artist Anaiis. She also mentioned dancing at a Bushbby’s block party and listening to reggaeton.

Naomi, who lives in Paris, said she planned to visit museums such as Musée Rodin or the Bourse du Commerce, and to sit at a brasserie with a book. Her reading list included La Vie Devant Soi by Romain Gary.

Both sisters highlighted their culinary tastes: Lisa favoured dumplings in Chinatown, Sichuan food, and tacos at Guacamole in Peckham, while Naomi praised her friend Zelikha Dinga’s cooking and listed Parisian spots like ChopChop and Lao Siam.

When asked about recent films, Lisa mentioned the documentary The Things We Don’t Say by Ornella Mutonis and the series Atlanta, while Naomi cited the film Paris‑Texas.

The interview also touched on their artistic hobbies. Lisa said she enjoys buying prints, particularly those by Joy Yamusangie, and that she recently handmade a piñata for a friend. Naomi noted that she sometimes paints or works with ceramics.

In terms of music listening, Lisa listed Saya Gray, Pharaoh Sanders’ The Creator Has a Master Plan and the newly discovered Avila Santo as current favourites. Naomi said she listens to Esther Perel’s philosophy podcasts and that she considers Offering the album everyone should hear.

Ibeyi’s decision to release Offering independently reflects a broader trend among established artists seeking greater artistic freedom and direct engagement with fans. By handling distribution through AWAL, the sisters retain ownership of their master recordings while accessing a global streaming network.

The album’s release and tour are scheduled to begin in late June, with the vinyl edition following in September. Fans can expect to hear the new material on streaming services immediately and to see the duo perform live across Europe in the months ahead.
