It has always been commonplace for music artists to try their hand in acting. Whether it be cameos in TV shows like Ed Sheeran’s unforgettable performance in Game of Thrones or even appearances in movies like Kanye West in the Love Guru. We’ve even seen artists like Childish Gambino find success creating and staring in their own show, although this is much rarer to find.
It’s incredibly difficult getting any TV show off the ground. Having to follow up a successful debut season with more episodes is no easy task. But it seems like Dave Burd (Lil Dicky) never got that memo.
The hit show ‘Dave’ airs on FXX and streams on Hulu. It follows the journey of Lil Dicky and his journey to becoming one of the greatest rappers to ever grace the mic. The show includes plenty of original music by Lil Dicky himself and plenty of laughs. However, the show has much more depth than just the dream of making it big on the rap scene. The show deals with real world issues, such as mental health, including: anxiety, bi-polar disorder, stress, etc. Pushing these issues to the spotlight of the series thus far has really resonated with its audience, especially in a time where there is a much tighter focus on mental health worldwide. ‘Dave’ just wrapped up its second season and if you have not seen it yet then I highly recommend that you do.
