Gibson Opens Miamis First Garage, Brings 600 Guitars to Wynwood

Miami’s Wynwood Art District just got a new kind of stage. On September 10, 2026, Gibson unveiled its third global Garage at 2660 NW Third Avenue, a sprawling 8,000‑square‑foot showroom that now houses nearly 600 electric and acoustic instruments from Gibson, Epiphone, Kramer, MESA/Boogie, Maestro, KRK, and Gibson Amplifiers. The ribbon‑cutting marked the company’s second U.S. location and its first in a city that has long been a hub for Latin‑music production.

The event drew a colorful mix of voices: Gibson executives, Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins, and a roster of Latin‑music luminaries. Peruvian singer‑songwriter Gian Marco, Nicaraguan salsa icon Luis Enrique, Maná guitarist Sergio Vallín, Argentine guitarist Nico Bereciartua, and American singer‑guitarist Grace Potter all took part in the ceremony. Vallín told reporters that the venue offers “an incredible opportunity for kids to see the power of music and the joys of being a guitarist.” The Garage departs from a conventional retail model. Visitors can pull instruments from a moving overhead conveyor, plug them in, and play. Staff guide musicians through models, tones, and customization options, while a built‑in performance stage invites concerts, album launches, intimate showcases, and community programs.

Gibson’s Miami Garage is positioned as a bridge between the brand’s rock, blues, and country heritage and the vibrant sounds of Latin America and the Caribbean. The company highlighted this focus during the opening, noting Miami’s longstanding role as a cultural crossroads. The space’s layout, merchandise, and programming are designed to mirror the city’s multicultural identity. A highlight is the collaboration with Maná guitarist Sergio Vallín: his signature 1955 Les Paul Goldtop, a tribute to the guitarist’s legacy, sits prominently on display. The collection ranges from entry‑level instruments to rare models and Custom Shop creations.

Beyond the instruments, the Garage houses the first permanent Gibson Gallery in the United States. The inaugural exhibition, Amplified: Icons of Music Through the Lens, partners with Getty Images and features more than 30 photographs of influential performers across rock, blues, pop, country, folk, jazz, reggae, and Americana—including Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Dolly Parton, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, and AC/DC—whose styles have shaped Latin rock and contemporary Latin pop. Large‑scale murals by Miami artists Solano and Nate Dee adorn the interior and south façade, respectively, and a free public panel, Music and Murals, will take place on September 11. Moderated by Gibson’s director of brand experience Mark Agnesi, the event will feature the muralists, a musical guest, and new hand‑painted art guitars.

Gibson’s expansion into Miami signals a strategic move to weave Latin‑music culture into its retail and experiential model. After opening its first U.S. Garage in Nashville in 2021 and a London location in 2024, the Miami venue adds a Latin‑music dimension to the brand’s global presence. As of now, Gibson Garage Miami is open to the public and hosts regular performances and community events, positioning it as a new gathering place for musicians and fans in the city’s vibrant music scene.
