Albanys Foothills Festival 2026 Kicks Off Oct. 10 With Pageants, Worship, and Country Music

Albany, Kentucky, is primed for its seventh‑annual Foothills Festival, scheduled from October 10‑17, 2026. The event will carry the motto “American Spirit Lives in the Foothills,” promising a week of pageantry, worship, local commerce, and country‑music entertainment that will draw residents and visitors alike.

The festival opens Saturday, Oct. 10, with a full‑blown pageant day. The schedule includes a baby show for ages 0‑4, a Prince & Princess contest, the newly renamed “Crowned with Joy” pageant for participants with special needs, and the traditional Miss, Junior Miss, and Teen Miss categories. Registrations are accepted through the Foothills Festival Facebook page and at The Klassic Shop in downtown Albany.

Mid‑week, the community will gather for the Night of Worship on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Local church groups will perform music and share testimonies, while Albany Baptist Church supplies refreshments for attendees.

The heart of downtown will buzz with craft and retail vendors, and Friday, Oct. 16, will host a parade that begins at 5:00 p.m. Floats, classic cars, high‑school bands, and local businesses will line the streets. After the procession, the band “Timeless Highway” will take the stage on Stage 1.

For the first time in the festival’s history, a laser light show will accompany a synchronized music performance. The spectacle will underscore the theme and add a new visual dimension to the festivities.

Saturday, Oct. 17, kicks off with the annual Foothills Festival 5K run at 8:00 a.m., sponsored by The Medical Center of Albany. The 3.1‑mile course winds through the town and finishes in the square.

The day will also feature line‑dance performances by Southern Crew Line Dancers and Border Line Dancers, a high‑school band, and a “Rolling Through the Foothills” event that encourages participants to decorate wheeled items such as bicycles, strollers, and wheelchairs.

Contestants will battle it out in a costume contest, a pet‑costume contest, a Dolly Parton look‑alike contest, and a karaoke contest. Stage 2 will host the festival’s inaugural lip‑sync contest.

Evening entertainment will be led by country‑music stars. Marty Brown will headline at 6:00 p.m., followed by Tracy Byrd at 7:30 p.m. The concert is backed by sponsors Sun Pools, Tyson, the Clinton County Community Foundation, Clinton County Tourism, and Albany Plumbing & Electric.

Food vendors will offer a global menu, featuring American, Mexican, Asian, Greek, and Indian fare, alongside homemade donuts, specialty coffee, and flavored pork rinds.

Children will enjoy a pumpkin patch, bouncy houses, train rides, carnival games, and a Ferris wheel, all courtesy of First & Farmers National Bank.

Organizers, including committee member Trisha Miller, stress that the festival is a community celebration of local businesses, families, and traditions. The theme is echoed in window and outdoor decorating contests, whose winners receive a traveling trophy.
