Ill Nino Unveils Teaser for New Single "Born To Suffer" Featuring First-Time Vocalist Tommy Roulette

Ill Niño has released a teaser for its upcoming single “Born To Suffer” (Spanish: Nacido Pa Sufrir), the first track to feature new frontman Tommy Roulette. The band announced that a full music video will premiere on September 4, 2026.

The New Jersey‑based group was founded in 1998 by drummer Dave Chavarri, who remains the only original member. Chavarri assembled an early lineup that included bassist Christian Machado, guitarist Daniel Gómez, and vocalist Jorge Rosado, and the band issued a self‑titled EP under the name El Niño. After a series of guitarist changes, the group adopted the name Ill Niño in 1999, signed with Roadrunner Records in 2000, and released its debut album Revolution Revolución on September 18, 2001. The album sold more than 350,000 copies worldwide within its first two years.

Lineup shifts followed in 2003 when guitarist Marc Rizzo and percussionist Roger Vasquez departed, prompting a re‑configuration that saw Machado move from bass to lead vocals. Since then, Ill Niño has released several studio albums and maintained a presence on the metal touring circuit.

Tommy Roulette, formerly the vocalist of New Jersey metalcore band Jynx, joined Ill Niño in 2025. He made his live debut with the band on July 3, 2026, performing at the Mercury Music Lounge in Lakewood, Ohio, during a tour with Powerman 5000. The teaser for “Born To Suffer” was posted on the band’s social‑media channels on January 16, 2026, and the track is slated to be the lead single from the group’s eighth studio album, which is still in production.

Ill Niño’s music blends nu‑metal heaviness with Latin‑influenced rhythms, a formula that has earned the band a dedicated following in the metal community. The addition of Roulette marks a notable change in the band’s vocal direction, but the group has not issued statements regarding how the new lineup will influence the forthcoming album’s sound.

As of now, the teaser for “Born To Suffer” is available on the band’s official YouTube channel, and the music video is scheduled for release on September 4, 2026. No release date has been announced for the eighth studio album, and the band continues to tour in support of its existing catalog.

In summary, Ill Niño is preparing to launch its first single with Tommy Roulette, “Born To Suffer,” with a video debut set for September 4, 2026. The band’s history of lineup changes and its established presence in the Latin‑metal scene position the new single as a potential milestone in its evolving discography.
