Victony Climbs to First No. 1 on Nigeria Top 100 with SLICK, Managers Earn TurnTable Executives of the Week

Victony’s single “SLICK” entered the TurnTable Official Nigeria Top 100 at No. 73 after only two days of tracking and rose to No. 1 the following week. The track has since held the top spot for two consecutive weeks, marking the artist’s first solo No. 1 on the chart.

The climb was accompanied by 3.1 million on‑demand streams and over 60 million radio impressions in the first full week. In its second week at the summit, “SLICK” generated 2.44 million streams (ranking second on the streaming component) and 62.8 million radio air‑play impressions (ranking fifth on the radio component). The song’s performance has earned Victony’s managers, Elo Ububa of Outlawville and Shay Royale of All Season, the TurnTable Charts’ Executives of the Week award.

Victony, who began releasing freestyle rap tracks on SoundCloud in 2016, has built a career that blends Afrobeats, melodic R&B and experimental pop. His 2020 debut studio album, Saturn, and 2024’s Stubborn have established him as a consistent presence on Nigerian charts. In 2026, the artist released “FRE$H”, which debuted at No. 100 with only two days of tracking and moved to No. 10 a week later after amassing 1.8 million streams and 24.75 million radio impressions. “FRE$H” has spent eight weeks on the Top 100.

According to the managers, the strategy behind “SLICK” was to let the music speak for itself. “We built a moment on the first teaser, ‘FRE$H’, and capitalised on that momentum to introduce ‘SLICK’ as a bridge into the new world we’re building,” said Elo Ububa. Shay Royale added that the campaign focused on storytelling, creative content and a patient rollout that allowed audiences to connect organically.

The managers also highlighted Victony’s hands‑on role in the creative process. “He’s extremely involved in the ideation and production of his music,” said both managers. “His approach is relaxed, allowing ideas to develop naturally, which often leads to his strongest records.”

The success of “SLICK” comes at a time when Victony is preparing to release STARLIFE, a project that began as a mixtape and is now positioned as his sophomore album. The managers said the album will showcase the artist’s growth both musically and personally. “Everything we’ve done is intentional,” said Elo Ububa. “Fans can expect great music, strong visuals and an experience that shows where Victony is now.”

Victony’s chart statistics are notable. He has 33 career chart entries, 13 Top 10 hits and, with “SLICK”, his first No. 1 single. The managers emphasise that chart positions are not the sole measure of success. “We’re focused on building an artiste identity true to Victony and a sustainable music business,” said Shay Royale. “That means releasing music that connects authentically, touring internationally, building strong partnerships and creating a catalogue that lasts.”

Looking ahead, the managers see Victony expanding his global reach. “In five or ten years, we hope people see Victony as a leader in the new generation of Afrobeats and global music,” said Elo Ububa. “We want him to headline arenas worldwide, create timeless music and work with artists from different cultures while leaving a catalogue that inspires future generations.”

The current focus for Victony and his team is the release of STARLIFE and the continuation of a strategic, patient approach to promotion and touring. The artist’s next milestone will likely involve further chart activity, international performances and the expansion of his brand beyond Nigeria.
