OCVIBE Opens Doors to 5,000-Seat Concert Hall in Anaheim, Marks Construction Milestone
Orange County’s newest entertainment hub, OCVIBE, held an invitation‑only hard‑hat tour this week that gave media, industry executives and partners a first look inside its 5,000‑seat concert hall. The event coincided with the installation of the venue’s first permanent audience seats, a key construction milestone that signals the project is moving from design to build.
The hall, slated to open in March 2027, is part of a $5 billion development that surrounds the Honda Center and the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC). Designed by global architecture firm Populous—known for the Las Vegas Sphere, Yankee Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium—the venue is built for flexibility. While live music remains the primary focus, the space can accommodate comedy shows, television productions, award ceremonies, corporate events and community programming.
Among the hall’s most distinctive features is an indoor‑outdoor artist lounge anchored by a mature Arbutus ‘Marina’ tree. The tree, a rare evergreen with pink flowers and red fruit, provides a unique backdrop for performers and touring crews. The lounge, along with artist suites, backstage production areas, hospitality spaces and premium viewing sections, is intended to give artists a retreat that is uncommon in North American venues.
OCVIBE’s 5,000‑seat capacity fills a gap in Southern California’s touring ecosystem. The venue is large enough for acts that have outgrown club venues but are not yet ready for arena‑size crowds, and it offers established performers an intimate setting designed for premium concert experiences.
The hard‑hat tour was followed by a presentation at ARTIC that outlined the broader OCVIBE district. The first phase, expected to debut in early 2027, will include Katella Commons—a 50,000‑square‑foot chef‑driven market hall—and The Weave, Orange County’s first mass‑timber mixed‑use office building. Once the entire 100‑acre complex is complete in 2033, it will contain more than 2,000 residences, over 35 dining concepts, three entertainment venues and 20 acres of public open space.
During the tour, attendees experienced a preview of the venue’s live‑music focus with an acoustic set from Ace Enders of The Early November. The performance, held at the venue’s main auditorium, illustrated the type of intimate shows OCVIBE aims to host once it opens.
Construction on the concert hall is progressing steadily. The installation of permanent seating marks the first major interior element to be completed, and the venue’s structural framework is already in place. OCVIBE’s developers have confirmed that the hall will be ready for its scheduled March 2027 opening, with the rest of the district’s phases following in the coming years.
As OCVIBE moves from concept to reality, the Anaheim area is poised to gain a new centerpiece for live entertainment that complements the Honda Center and expands the region’s capacity for mid‑size touring acts.
