The Hu Release Third Studio Album Hun, Drop New Horsemen Video After Iron Maiden Tour

"In our third album, we tested many boundaries and used different techniques to perfect the combination of traditional instruments with heavy metal music genres," Jaya said. He added that the concept of Hun stems from universal experiences common to all humans.
The track list contains eleven songs, including the title‑track “Warrior Chant,” “Lost Soul” (featuring Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More), “The Men,” “Echoes Of My Father,” “Shadow,” “Horsemen,” “Greed,” “The Real You,” “Grey Hun,” “Universe,” and “Second Face.” The digital edition of Hun includes a version of “Lost Soul” with Hawkins; the CD and vinyl editions do not.
The “Horsemen” video draws on Mongolia’s military history, celebrating the legendary warriors who once rode across much of the known world. The band described the song as a tribute to the discipline, intelligence, courage, and skill that earned the warriors the nickname “Army of the Heavens.”
Hun arrives after a high‑profile period of international exposure. The Hu supported Iron Maiden on recent UK tour dates, a collaboration that broadened their audience and showcased their “Hunnu Rock” style—a fusion of throat singing, morin khuur, tovshuur, and modern metal.
The Hu first gained worldwide attention in 2018 with the viral success of “Yuve Yuve Yu” and “Wolf Totem.” Their debut album, The Gereg, released in 2019, established the group’s presence in Europe and North America. Rumble of Thunder, issued in 2022, expanded their reach through collaborations with artists such as William DuVall (Alice In Chains), Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), and Lzzy Hale (Halestorm).
Beyond touring, The Hu’s music has appeared in video games and film. Tracks have been featured in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, where adapted versions were performed in the fictional Star Wars language. The band also contributed a cover of Metallica’s “Through The Never” to the Metallica Blacklist project and has recorded versions of Metallica’s “Sad But True” and Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper.”
