Frank Rogers Promoted to Global CEO of Spirit Music, Continuing Dual Role as Producer and Songwriter
When Nashville’s own Frank Rogers was announced as the global chief executive officer of Spirit Music Group on May 26 2026, the industry was reminded that the city’s most prolific song‑writer and producer can still juggle boardroom strategy and studio creativity.
Rogers’ ascent to the top of the company follows a steady climb that began in 2019, when he took the helm of Spirit Music’s Nashville office, and a 2022 promotion to chief creative officer. The move makes him responsible for the group’s worldwide creative strategy, operations and business development while he continues to write and produce.
Born in Sumter, South Carolina, Rogers grew up in a town that also produced country star Lee Gibson. He first picked up a guitar at twelve and later earned a business degree from Belmont University in Nashville. While still a student he worked as a staff engineer at the campus studio and interned with the National Songwriters Association and EMI Music Publishing, the world’s largest publisher at the time. After graduation, he returned to EMI full‑time, rising from production assistant to Jimmy Gilmer.
It was at EMI that Rogers began writing for rising stars Brad Paisley and Darryl Worley. When the company questioned his dual role as writer and employee, he secured a publishing deal with EMI. In 1999, he teamed with Paisley and Chris DuBois to launch Sea Gayle Music, a joint venture with EMI that would go on to produce hits for Paisley, Josh Turner, Trace Adkins and others. Sea Gayle’s success earned it the ASCAP Country Publisher of the Year award in 2010 and 2011, making it the first independent publisher to win the honor in decades.
After more than fifteen years at Sea Gayle, Rogers left to co‑found Fluid Music Revolution in 2016. The new venture partnered with Spirit Music, a catalog‑heavy publisher that had yet to acquire contemporary country talent. The joint venture evolved into a full‑time partnership, and by 2019 Rogers was named CEO of Spirit Music’s Nashville office. Three years later he was promoted to chief creative officer for the entire group.
Rogers remains deeply involved in the creative side of the business. He is currently writing and producing for established acts such as Darius Rucker and Scotty McCreery, and nurturing emerging talent like Emily Ann Roberts. In interviews he describes a typical day as a blend of studio sessions, business meetings and travel to recording locations in Los Angeles, London and the Midwest.
In addition to his industry roles, Rogers was recently awarded South Carolina’s Order of the Palmetto by the state governor, honoring his contributions to music and his representation of the state on a national stage.
The promotion to global CEO places Rogers at the forefront of an independent publisher that has grown from a Nashville‑centric operation into a worldwide presence. His dual focus on creative output and business strategy is expected to guide Spirit Music’s expansion into new markets and genres.
Industry observers will be watching how Rogers balances his executive responsibilities with his ongoing production and songwriting work—a balance he has maintained throughout his career.
