Stingray and Telly Team Up to Bring Free Karaoke and Streaming Apps to U.S. Smart TVs

Stingray Group Inc. has announced a strategic partnership with Telly, the maker of the free, dual‑screen smart television, to launch its flagship audio and karaoke services on the platform. The deal makes Stingray Karaoke and Stingray Streams available to Telly users across the United States at no additional cost.

Under the agreement, Telly’s secondary Smart Home Screen and premium audio system will host the two Stingray apps. Users can access a library of 100,000 licensed tracks in Stingray Karaoke, covering pop, rock, country, R&B, hip‑hop and family‑friendly titles. The companion app, Stingray Streams, offers curated audio content such as music channels, concert recordings and wellness programming that is designed to complement the TV’s built‑in soundbar and ambient lighting.

Jim Riley, President of Stingray Music USA, said the partnership expands the reach of Stingray’s “world‑class music services” to a “rapidly growing and engaged audience.” He added that the integration aligns with Stingray’s mission to bring music to “everyone, everywhere.”

Telly’s CEO, Ilya Pozin, has positioned the company as a disruptor in the home‑entertainment market. The free 55‑inch 4K HDR television is subsidized by advertising and features a second, always‑on smart display that provides widgets, controls, news headlines and sponsored content. The primary screen is intended for movies, shows and games, while the secondary screen can display music, fitness apps, video calls and, now, karaoke.

Neal Tiles, Telly’s Head of Partnerships, emphasized the company’s vision that the “biggest screen in the home should be much more than just a television.” He noted that the platform already supports live sports, gaming, music, fitness and video calling, and that adding karaoke “turns family night into karaoke night.”

The collaboration is part of Telly’s broader strategy to transform the living room into a multi‑functional hub. By integrating Stingray’s digital services, the company is expanding its interactive offerings beyond gaming and fitness. The partnership also dovetails with Telly’s recent moves to partner with other media and advertising firms, including Nielsen and Magnite, to enhance content discovery and monetization.

Stingray Group, headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, has built a portfolio of audio and video services that includes internet radio, over‑the‑top music channels, and business‑to‑business audio solutions. The company acquired Stingray Music, a continuous streaming music service, in 2011 and rebranded it in 2014. In addition to its consumer apps, Stingray has partnered with automotive manufacturers to bring karaoke to vehicles.

The launch on Telly is the first time Stingray’s karaoke and streaming apps will be available on a free, advertising‑supported smart TV. The move could broaden the user base for both companies, as Telly’s free model attracts households that might otherwise not invest in a premium TV. The integration also leverages Telly’s built‑in soundbar, which is marketed as a high‑quality audio experience for music and home entertainment.

The partnership does not involve a paid subscription for users. Instead, the apps will run on the secondary screen and use the TV’s existing hardware. Users can control the apps via the TV’s remote or a compatible mobile device.

Stingray’s karaoke library includes tracks across major genres, and the app’s interface is designed to display lyrics and music videos on the TV screen. The streaming app’s curated channels are intended to provide a “wellness‑focused programming” that can be paired with Telly’s ambient lighting features.

The collaboration represents a significant expansion of Telly’s interactive ecosystem, which aims to turn the traditional living room television into a shared‑experience hub. The partnership is expected to drive engagement on the secondary screen and increase the time users spend on the platform.

At present, the apps are available to all Telly users in the United States. No additional fees are required, and the integration is fully supported by Telly’s existing hardware and software.

The partnership underscores the growing trend of integrating music and audio services into home‑entertainment devices. While the free TV model relies on advertising revenue, the addition of high‑quality music and karaoke content could enhance the perceived value of the device and attract a broader audience.

The current status is that Stingray Karaoke and Stingray Streams are live on Telly’s U.S. devices, and both companies are monitoring user engagement and performance metrics. No further announcements have been made regarding expansion to other markets or additional features.
