HEY JUNE! Set to Perform New Hits at Rappler Live Jam on July 9

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino alternative pop‑rock trio HEY JUNE! will perform live for the first time since its debut at Rappler Live Jam on Thursday, July 9, 2026. The event will take place at Rappler headquarters and will be streamed on Rappler’s YouTube channel at 8 p.m. local time.

The band, formed in 2021, consists of vocalist and guitarist Jim Mase, bassist Coey Ballesteros, and drummer Aci Fodra. According to the press release announcing the show, HEY JUNE! first gained attention with the single “Just A Hit.” Wikipedia, however, records the group’s debut single as “Panahon,” released in 2022. The band’s first full‑length album, Curiosity Killed the Cat, followed in 2023 and included the track “Lasik.”

“Lasik” became a sleeper hit in 2025, achieving widespread popularity on TikTok and Instagram. The song topped the Spotify Philippines Viral 50 chart, surpassed five million streams, and entered the Billboard Philippines charts in early July 2025, debuting at number 39 on the Philippines Hot 100 and number 20 on the Top Philippine Songs chart.

In 2026, HEY JUNE! released three consecutive singles: “Sabihin Mo Lang,” “Pagmamahal,” and “Kung May Problema Ka.” The group’s most recent release is “Ai Shite Ruyo,” a reimagining of the 1994 Smokey Mountain classic.

Rappler Live Jam is a livestreamed music series that features local and international artists. The July 9 performance will showcase the band’s newest material, including the 2026 singles and the reworked Smokey Mountain track. Viewers are encouraged to bookmark the event page or visit Rappler’s YouTube channel to watch the livestream.

The event is part of Rappler’s ongoing effort to promote Filipino music talent. By providing a platform for HEY JUNE! to perform new releases, Rappler supports the band’s growing presence in the Philippine music scene.

The band’s trajectory—from its 2021 formation to a chart‑topping single and multiple releases in 2026—illustrates the increasing visibility of indie pop‑rock acts in the Philippines. Their recent work, particularly the reimagining of a classic Filipino song, reflects a broader trend of contemporary artists revisiting earlier hits.

Fans of HEY JUNE! can expect a live set that includes the band’s recent singles and a performance of “Ai Shite Ruyo.” The livestream will be available on Rappler’s YouTube channel, and the event will be accessible to viewers worldwide.

The July 9 Rappler Live Jam marks a significant moment for HEY JUNE!, offering the group a national platform to present its latest work and to engage with a broader audience.
