W.A. Production Launches PsychoPan, a 3-D Audio Plugin for Cinematic Mixing

W.A. Production has unveiled PsychoPan, a new audio plugin that turns a flat stereo mix into a three‑dimensional soundscape. Available in VST/VST3, AU, and AAX for Windows and macOS, the plug‑in is on sale for $14.90 USD through July 31 2026, a $35 discount from its regular price of $49.90 USD.

The plugin was crafted in partnership with veteran audio engineer Pan Athen. Rather than relying on cumbersome acoustic measurements, PsychoPan offers a tactile interface that grants producers instant, hands‑on control over spatial placement. Its design borrows techniques from cinema sound design, game audio, and immersive production.

At its core lies the HyperSpatial™ Audio Core, which processes input signals to create a perception of three‑dimensional space within a two‑channel stereo field. Users can adjust placement with an intuitive XY pad, elevation and pan knobs, and a zone module that defines distinct spatial zones. A perceptual distance engine, split into five sub‑modules, encodes how far a sound appears from the listener. The interface also incorporates Cinesafe visual guidelines, a zero‑latency safety limiter, and global and modular bypass options.

PsychoPan’s graphics are vector‑based and resizable, with live displays that show signal processing in real time. This visual feedback lets producers see how each tweak reshapes the stereo image. The plugin is described as responsive, CPU‑friendly, and compatible with any digital audio workstation that supports VST, AU, or AAX.

Factory presets are supplied, and the plug‑in can be downloaded directly from W.A. Production’s website or from Plugin Boutique, where the introductory price is listed until the end of July 2026.

The release follows a broader trend of spatial audio tools that empower producers to manipulate sound placement without the need for multi‑channel setups. Competing products such as Transpanner 2 and THX Spatial Creator also target similar use cases, but PsychoPan emphasizes a psychoacoustic approach that encodes depth cues directly into a stereo mix.

By offering an introductory price of $14.90, W.A. Production appears to target independent producers and smaller studios. The low cost and straightforward interface could encourage adoption among users who previously relied on more complex panning or 3‑D mixing techniques.

W.A. Production has a track record of releasing audio tools for producers, including the Drum & Bass Mega Pack and the Free Serum Future House presets. PsychoPan adds a new dimension to the company’s product line, positioning it as a provider of both creative and technical solutions.

In short, PsychoPan delivers a 3‑D depth and positioning effect that can be applied to standard stereo mixes. The plugin is available in multiple formats, features a user‑friendly interface, and is offered at a discounted introductory price until July 31 2026. Producers interested in cinematic sound can download the plug‑in from W.A. Production’s website or from Plugin Boutique.

The plugin’s launch is expected to broaden the toolkit available to music producers, sound designers, and game audio engineers who seek to add spatial depth without the overhead of multi‑channel mixing.
