The Rolling Stones are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their Grammy-nominated album, ‘Tattoo You’, with a remastered collection that includes nine previously unreleased tracks. ‘Tattoo You’ reached No.1 in the U.S. charts in September, 1981 where it remained for over 2 months. It is the last Stones album to chart No.1.
The news arrives as the legendary group prepares for their ‘No Filter’ tour across the United States. The tour is set to kick off Sept. 26 in St. Louis and extends into November.
In addition to the news, the Stones debuted ‘Living in the Heart of Love,’ one of the nine previously unreleased songs. The nine songs were all originally recorded while the Stones were making ‘Tattoo You’, but were recently finished and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the Stones.
A live album, ‘Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982’ will accompany the super deluxe edition of ‘Tattoo You’. The concert was recorded on the London stop of the band’s ‘Tattoo You’ tour and features a 26-song set that includes many Stones hits, plus covers of songs by the Temptations, Eddie Cochran, and the Miracles.
